Molly turned 5 on the 15th and on her Birthday she skipped school and spent the day with Mom, which Molly calls our "special day". We started our day at the movies seeing Kung Fu Panda 2, followed by lunch with Dad, then to the beach and Santa Monica Pier. We headed back to the beach with Dad and Gracie that evening for more play time on the beach and then dinner.
Last Saturday we had Molly's Tangled Party at our house. Rapunzel entertained the kids and helped them decorate lanterns so even the parents could sit back and enjoy the party.
Molly had been talking about her plans for a Tangled Party for months and the first thing she requested was a tower cake. So here is my take on Rapunzel's Tower. The tower is made of Rice Krispie Treats and the base is chocolate cake. This was my first time working with fondant and I decided to make my own marshmallow fondant and found it much easier to do than I anticipated and really had fun making this cake.
Yes, that is me crying when we are singing Happy Birthday to Molly. I have been emotional all week because my little baby turned 5 this week, is graduating from preschool next week and will be in Kindergarten in September!
